Naomi is a 16.2 draft cross mare born ~2007.
When Naomi arrived at the Rescue, she was in foal, and her eyes had the same dull cast that we see with many of the new arrivals. Now her eyes are bright, she’s engaged with what’s going on around her, and she nickers when she sees Phyllis coming near. She is startled by unexpected loud noises, but is settling in nicely.
Naomi’s foal was born in February 2023—a spunky filly named Victoria. Mom and foal are doing very well; Naomi is a vigilant mother but is comfortable with people handling Victoria.
We believe Naomi was an Amish driving horse, as she has marks on her shoulders from a harness. She stands well for the farrier, vet, and dentist. She’s kind, gentle, and easy to handle.
