Melody, a black mini mare, was rescued in November 2020 from a kill pen with 3 other minis and a small pony.
We thought she might be in foal when she arrived, but it turns out that Melody just has a very round belly. She’s a nice little mare, skittish at first, but now more relaxed and trusting. We take her to community events to meet the public, and she helps our Camp Desperado kids learn how to safely lead and handle a horse.
Melody lost her bonded partner Pretzel in January 2024. Thankfully, she seems to be adjusting well. A sweet girl who could use your support!
