Sunny is a handsome palomino gelding, foaled in 1998. He is an American Quarter Horse, registered as Rappin’ Fools Gold. He is a grandson of Reynolds Rap.
Sunny was surrendered by his previous owner, and came to the Rescue from a foster home on 4/16/22. He’s not a loner: he needs the company of other horses and will call to horses in other paddocks. Sunny’s got lots of energy, and does best living in a run-in shed or in-and-out where he can move around as he pleases.
Sunny received some training at the foster home in March 2022, but we’re still working on his ground manners—he can be a bit pushy sometimes, so setting clear boundaries with him is essential. He has been ridden by a couple of experienced riders at the Rescue. He has a bit more go than whoa, and thus is not a horse for beginners.
Sunny is not getting worked regularly right now, but we’re pretty sure he would benefit from consistent exercise, as he has a lot of energy.
