Phyllis Elliott named “2022 New Hampshire Horse Person of the Year”

March 8, 2022 by Edie

On March 7th, The New Hampshire Horse Council named Phyllis Marie Elliott, founder and president of Hidden Pond Farm Equine Rescue in Brentwood, the 2022 New Hampshire Horse Person of the Year.  In accepting her award, Phyllis was quick to credit the organization’s volunteers, donors, sponsors, and staff for its success in fulfilling its mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming unwanted, neglected and/or abused equines. Congratulations and well-deserved!

What hurricane? We hit the trails!

September 6, 2021 by Edie

Although Hurricane Henri was on its way, more than 20 intrepid riders joined us for the Marie Perreault Memorial Trail Ride in Fremont, NH, on August 22nd. The trails were unusually wet due to the wettest summer we’ve had in years, but the horses braved the high water and kept right on going. The last riders returned just before the downpour began. Photos from the ride can be found on Facebook.

March 24, 2021: HPF on “New Hampshire Chronicle”

March 24, 2021 by Edie

The New Hampshire Chronicle team from WMUR-TV visited the Rescue in early May 2019, and got to meet Phyllis, Bella, and a few of the horses. (Louise was quite curious about the camera, as you will see.) Here’s the story as it aired on May 8th, 2019 (and again on March 24, 2021).

HPF named Townsend Media “Year of Service” Partner

October 4, 2020 by Edie

The Rescue was recently named one of Townsquare Media’s “Year of Service” partners. The annual Year of Service program is a comprehensive on-air and digital program designed to make a significant contribution to regional non-profit organizations, and has been running for over thirty years. This year, the charitable initiative will support seven non-profits—including Hidden Pond Farm Equine Rescue—across four Townsquare Media radio stations.

Townsquare has created a one-minute public service announcement about the Rescue that is playing on local radio stations. (With their permission, we turned it into a video. Take a look!)
